The Council Bluffs Community School District offers a continuum of services to meet the needs of each student identified as an eligible individual in the state of Iowa. The continuum of services is available for eligible students from preschool to age 21 based on needs identified through the Individual Education Plan (IEP), and ensures that all students are served in the “least restrictive environment.” All District schools have special education instructional services to meet the needs of students in the general education classroom and in pull-out settings. Other services may include speech, vision, hearing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, assistive technology, paraprofessional services and transportation.
Council Bluffs Community Schools provides a broad variety of Special Education Services to more than 1,400 students from preschool to age 21. The goal for each student is to enter adult life with the skills necessary for independent living and working in the community to the greatest extent possible.
